Yikes, what a shocker some teams had. Liverpool / Arsenal / Chelsea / Spurs all dropping points at what should have been very winnable games but that might just have been. However, that’s why we like the PL as anyone can beat anyone, or at least draw in this case.
Our selection of Salah was very fortunate to be awarded a penalty and even more so that Areola didn’t keep it out. Liverpool were entirely underwhelming and we were very fortunate to walk away with a goal and a solitary bonus point.
This gameweek starts on Tuesday so there’s not much time to put in a decent considered approach.
TLDR
My © will be KdB
Vice – Salah
Disclaimer: Assuming No Changes in my lineup, but I do love a transfer!
We are now averaging 15.2pt/s and are now slightly behind for our target of 600 © for the season, so we are playing catchup
I’ve yet to really decide on what I’m going to do (transfer wise) but overall this week’s selections probably boil down to three or four players.
For most it will be a coin flip between KdB and Bruno, should they be savvy enough to own both. West Brom have conceded the most goals so far this year on 26 but have managed to pick up a solitary win in their last 5. Sheffield have lost all of their last but have conceded just the 21 this year.
I can well imagine a few maverick Vardy’s and Ings being selected. With form and opposition being a factor.
KDB – TSB ~ 27% – WBA
Certainly didn’t perform at the derby but however much good work WBA are putting in right now, they don’t seem to be getting much better (unlike Fulham who are showing a marked upturn in form). Man City should probably be able to win this without going through the gears. Though it is fair that we have still yet to actually see the swashbuckling City of old.
Kevin’s still shooting on sight, still on penalties and still able to thread the needle with a pass. I can’t see a scenario where he gets dropped but I guess that’s the danger of the roulette wheel if it’s real. Sterling may come good here too as he could well be up against Ivanovic who will do well to keep pace with Raheem.
Bruno – TSB ~ 41%
Yet to blank in any away game this season, a player who made way in order for me to squeeze Salah in on the tightest of budgets. I’m expecting United to be fresh to play Sheffield who are looking particularly poor all over the pitch. Has very similar traits to Kevin above, but does also have games where he gives it away an awful lot (yet still contrives to score usually). Probably the most heavily backed this midweek.
Ings – TSB ~ 8.4%
Unlucky not to have a haul at the weekend, and fitness/injuries no longer seeming an issue. Southampton have moved up to 4th and the noise coming out of the camp seems very positive. A game against an Arsenal side devoid of any real defensive stability seems as good an opportunity as any. Arsenal need to find a way to stop the rut but Hasenhüttl will not be in any mood to rest his players or take it easy on an opposition who are below them in the table. A good price point so many who have DCL may be able to jump off with relative ease. MCI are after Arsenal but with Fulham/West Ham the fixtures are generally favourable.
Vardy – TSB ~ 30%
Still as productive as ever and has also recently departed my team, I missed out on the 13 point haul this weekend. Comfortably in 2nd spot amongst the forwards with Everton up next. Everton did a number on Chelsea and this looks like an evenly matched. Sure the corner flags won’t stand a chance if he scores again, but if he does he’s a handy differential captain this week against the Brunos and Kevins of the world.
