Ahead of each gameweek FPL managers try to analyze the best players for their teams. It was Ronaldo who grabbed all the headlines in GW4. Now let us look at which players you can consider for your GW5 squad as differentials.
Nelson Semedo (Wolves – Defender – £4.9m) vs BRE (H)
Wolves earned their first win and clean sheet against Watford in GW4. Semedo put on a solid performance in that game. The wing-back made 3 attempts on goal from inside the box, with 1 shot on target. Overall, he has made 5 attempts on goal, 3 from inside the box, and 1 shot on target so far in 3 games. The defender has an xG of 0.75 which is a very good value for his price. He has also managed to create 3 chances for his teammates.
The next few games for Wolves are BRE (H), SOU (A), NEW (H), & AVL (A). The Portuguese is poised to do well in these games. Current ownership is 2.8% which makes him a solid differential.
Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal – Midfielder – £ 7.2m) vs BUR (A)
Arsenal finally got their first win of the season in GW4 against Norwich. Pepe provided the assist in that game for the only goal scored by the Gunners. Despite some poor performances by the Gunners, Pepe has some good underlying stats that make him a very good differential pick.
In 3 games, he has made 10 attempts on goal, 6 from inside the and 3 on target. He has also managed to create 9 chances and 1 big chance for his teammates. Burnley have struggled defensively so far and are without a single clean sheet. They have conceded 22 shots on target (joint 2nd highest in the league) so far and Pepe would look to exploit their defensive frailties. Current ownership is just 1.5%.
Ismaila Sarr (Watford – Midfielder – £6m) vs NOR (A)
The Senegalese winger made a solid start to the Premier League season with a goal against Aston Villa which earned his side a 3-2 win on the opening weekend. But back-to-back blanks in the following weeks meant he was overlooked and is in only 5.3% of the squads.
Sarr has been playing well despite not producing attacking returns. So far in 4 games, he has made 8 attempts on goal, 6 from inside the box, and 4 on target. He has also managed to create an impressive 9 chances for his teammates. Watford plays bottom of the table side Norwich City away from home followed by a home game against Newcastle. We expect Sarr to perform well in these relatively easy games. Norwich have conceded 74 shots so far (2nd highest in the league), which means Sarr should have plenty of chances to hurt the Canaries.
Richarlison (Everton – Forward £7.5m) vs AVL (A)
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin seemingly out for a couple of games, Richarlison is expected to play in a more advanced role. The Brazilian has scored 1 goal and provided 1 assist so far this season in 4 games. He has looked a goal threat and has made 9 attempts on goal, 5 from inside the box, and 1 on target. He has also managed to create 6 chances and 2 big chances for his teammates.
Aston Villa haven’t been solid at the back and have conceded 7 goals in 4 games. We back Richarlison to produce a strong performance. Current ownership is 11.9%.
