The Premier League is back after the international break. It has been an exciting season so far and the international break has given FPL managers a lot of time to mull over their team. In this article, we look at 4 differentials to consider ahead of GW8 who have an ownership of under 10%. These players are showing promise and may help improve your rank.
Marc Cucurella (Brighton – Defender – £5m) vs NOR (A)
The Spaniard has been very impressive since joining the Seagulls this season. In 4 games he has delivered 2 clean sheets. He has also managed to create 6 chances for his team in these games.
Brighton have made a good start to the 2021-22 campaign and we expect them to continue their form at Carrow Road. Targeting Norwich has been a successful tactic so far this season and we back Cucurella to deliver another solid performance. Current ownership is just 0.9%.
Emile Smith Rowe (Arsenal – Midfielder – £5.4m) vs CRY (H)
The Gunners have finally got their season up and running and the 21-year-old has been very influential. He delivered a season-high haul in GW 6 of 12 points at home against Spurs and another home fixture against Crystal Palace this week puts him on our radar.
So far in 7 appearances, he has delivered 1 goal and 1 assist. He had made 9 attempts on goal, 8 from inside the box, and 6 on target. He has also managed to create 8 chances for his teammates. Crystal Palace have struggled so far this campaign with just 1 win from 7 games. Their defence have shipped in 11 goals so far (joint 4th highest in the league) and we back Smith Rowe to take make an impact. Current ownership is 5.7%.
Phil Foden (Manchester City – Midfielder- £7.9m) vs BUR (H)
City players are always a gamble due to Pep’s rotation system. However, the 21-year-old Englishman was arguably City’s best player against rivals Liverpool in GW7. Also, with major doubts over Jesus and Torres’s availability for this game, Foden is in the driver seat for a starting position. The midfielder is deployed across the front line, which makes him a fine FPL asset.
In just 3 appearances (2 starts), he has had 3 shots from inside the box, and all of them have been on target. He has also managed to create 5 chances and 1 big chance. He has scored 1 goal in these 3 games. His opponents Burnley are winless so far this season and have conceded 11 goals (joint 4th highest in the league). Manchester City have scored at least 4 goals in their last 5 home matches against Burnley in all competitions and we expect Foden to be heavily involved. Current ownership is 2.7%.
Hwang Hee-Chan (Wolves – Forward £5.6m) vs AVL (A)
The South Korean has made an immediate impact since his loan move to Wolves. In 4 appearances (2 starts), he has scored 3 goals. With just 249 minutes of football under his belt so far, he has managed to have 5 attempts on goal from inside the box, and 3 shots on target. He has also created 1 big chance for his team.
While his teammate Jiminez is the tried and trusted alternative, the South Korean is a budget-friendly option who has delivered so far for his team.
The Wolves vs Aston Villa derby is should be an intense game and we back Hwang to put on another solid performance. Current ownership is 4.8%.
