Another (mini) double game week is at hand with Everton, Fulham, Burnley, and Man City all playing twice during the course of the gameweek. Those of you who planned well or transferred early might be rocked by some of the early injury news coming out of the camps with Antonio, Pope, DCL, Digne being a few of the bigger names that have picked up issues as we head into this weekend. UPDATE: Antonio has been passed fit this afternoon.
Last week we highlighted 4 players, 3 of whom scored pretty favourably with exception of Antonio who was my main choice. A little frustrating to be so close again but fortunately we have another GW to take our minds off it.
There is likely to be a good number of SGW players that make it into the dream team this week, Chelsea could be on for a good result against an injury troubled Newcastle & Brighton vs Villa could well be an entertaining watch, with West Ham vs Sheffield Utd another fixture that could well end up with this week’s higher scoring players outscoring those with the doubles.

Vice – Bruno
Sterling (or Gundongan if you own) – TSB ~ 13% – Spurs/Eve
Sterling popped up with a well nodded in goal against Liverpool and again looked very dangerous against Swansea last night for an hour where even Pep threw the armband on him.
It’s entirely possible he may not start both but the allure is certainly there given that both teams that he is playing don’t quite seem able to stop conceding goals as Wednesday night’s 5-4 cup game highlighted.
Since I own Sterling, I will be opting for him this week, but if you don’t own him but own Gundongan instead then he is equally as good a choice for the armband in these fixtures.
Whilst he has a lower ceiling of points historically, he has been collecting many more points than Sterling for almost half the price (£6m at 25% ownership) over the last 5 gameweeks.
Neither Spurs or Everton look like keeping a clean sheet any time soon, especially Everton with Digne possibly injured and their first choice keeper still not fully fit.
Personally, even if he doesn’t start both games I’m confident he will have the opportunities needed to score points. Strong gut feel here © Some folks have banded Cancelo/Stones about as options too but I’m not 100% that they will have clean sheets in both games but this could be an enjoyable punt for you.
Bruno – TSB ~ 59% – WBA
Clear at the top of the midfield points scorers, with plenty of double-digit hauls to his name. Bruno visits the Hawthorns next. Another goal at Everton last week. Likely to be heavily involved with Pogba out for a few weeks.
Huge ownership levels and with so many going for a double GW asset he could be almost considered a differential captain choice even though throwing the © on Bruno is perhaps not the most out of the box crazy thought of the week in this article. I’ll be sticking the vice here but I can’t imagine my Man City pick misses both games.
Pope / Mee – TSB ~ 14 / 5 % – CPL / FUL
Burnley defensive assets have been a popular consideration this double game week and with the two fixtures on offer and at least the potential of one/two clean sheets is tempting a few to go wild.
Potentially Pope has a knock but he does seem pretty vital to their clean sheet cause. A Zaha-less Palace could still be out of sorts with their shooting boots and Fulham will probably be considered the trickier of the ties given their form of late and they certainly can cause trouble in the way they will set to attack Burnley.
Should Pope play and keep a clean sheet then he often knocks around the bonus points and save count, so he could well end up with close to 10 points per game.
If you are unsure about Pope then Mee/Tarkowski look like similar alternatives with the potential hope of a goal or assist out of nowhere! That being said, you get what you are paying for so if you do go for it know that you are living mostly in hope for this week.
King – TSB 0.1% – FUL / MCI
It is a true shame that we can’t put DCL’s name here this week, for his 44% ownership (myself included) this was a nice double albeit with a trickier second game. A hamstring scare on Wednesday is likely to keep his involvement chances down so it could be time to throw Everton new boy Josh King into the mix.
Owned by 0.1% with a view to re-establishing himself as a PL striker this will be a great platform for him to remind people of his talents in this division. I probably won’t transfer DCL out as I’ve no FT left, but King could well be the differential captain of the week.
