Captain returns were a little hard to come by last week with most premium assets chipping in with a 90-minute cameo each and Vardy perhaps being the most notable exception with 3 assists. City defenders racked the double-digits (again) whilst many of the usual names were consigned to the bench, DCL popped up with a goal, Leicester finally reappeared with 5 goals.
We start again on Friday night with a vastly reduced card of football and just the four fixtures over the weekend before yet another unnecessary International break. With injuries to Son and the continued absence of Grealish (I have not heard if he will be involved either way) being the most notable names in the early news who probably won’t be in the starting 11. It’s worth noting that both Arsenal and Spurs play Thursday night in Europe before their matches on Sunday.

Vice – Raphina
Raphina – TSB ~ 14% – Fulham
With Bamford not at full fitness and Rodrigo yet to get 90 minutes, it will likely fall to the creative midfielder to provide the goods this week.
Fulham, after a rocky start to the PL, have only shipped more than a single goal once in the last 8 weeks so will prove to be a sterner test than most. Fulham have been goal-shy but are the standout contenders to beat the drop at this time with impressive showings against all opposition in recent weeks.
A clean sheet may not be on the cards for Dallas but he too could be worthy of the band as one of this season’s top-scoring defenders.
Kane -TSB ~ 42% – Aston Villa
Kane played in the NLD last week, barring one dirty tackle, you would barely know it. It was a complete no show as Spurs wilted away against their supposed rivals. With Spurs likely to be without Son due to injury, creativity may be tough to find against Villa. Bale too was largely anonymous but he and Moura will be key in this clash if Kane is to find his way past this season’s stand out goalkeeper, Martinez.
Villa could well believe that they should win this game and could be their own undoing. Kane is likely to be the most captained this week as he is the most owned outfield player in such a light week of fixtures. Kane has been largely impressive this year and will aim to lead from the front in order to put last weeks no show out of everyone’s minds. With so many people having less than 11 it’s a very safe pick.
Lascelles – TSB ~ 1.9% – BRI
Most seem to think this fixture will go the way of Brighton, I disagree. As such, I’d be considering Lascelles as gamble captain. 2 goals in his last three games and 1 CS. If Newcastle are serious about staying up this year, this fixture will be like a cup final. I expect a monstrous performance from Lascelles at both ends of the pitch. A real gamble, but you may not have many players to pick from.
Lacazette ~ 5.7% – WHU
Looks on his way to earning a continued starting place in the lineup at Arsenal. A threatening display and chipping in with 2 goals in the last three (started both of those two games), the game against West Ham provides an opportunity to continue to impress.
West Ham are sitting a clear 10 points ahead of the Gunners, so this will be a game that Arsenal will have to attack if they want something from this match as they seem incapable of keeping a clean sheet.
Cresswell / Antonio could be a great gamble if you don’t want to follow the crowds.
