Gameweek 25 saw nine fixtures take place, with the Chelsea vs Brighton fixture pushed forward due to Chelsea’s participation in the Club World Cup. Nonetheless, Man City extended their lead at the top of the table after a routine 2-0 victory over Brentford. Liverpool picked up a good 2-0 win over Leicester to keep some light pressure on Man City. Man United played out a disappointing 1-1 draw against Burnley in which they had a goal ruled out for offside and a VAR decision. Spurs were the unlucky casualties in the race for the top 4 as they slumped to a 3-2 home defeat against Southampton, while Arsenal moved within a point of West Ham in 5th with two games in hand. On the FPL front, an average of 50 saw a return to a high scoring week with three picks of last week returning points. Strategies will start to change going into the DGWs in GW25, 26 and 27.
