We are now closer to the end of the season with just 4 more gameweeks left. Most of the managers are focused on the doubles in GW36 and GW37, but the GW35 deadline is coming soon. The best possible way to climb ranks at the end of the season is to back some differential players and thus, in this article, we bring you 3 differential players that can help you boost your ranks.
Emerson Royal (Spurs – Defender – £4.5m) vs LEI (H)
With Doherty now out possibly for the rest of the season, Emerson Royal becomes a fantastic option till the end of the season. Spurs have good single GW fixtures till GW38 and a double in GW36. Emerson has scored a goal and kept 2 clean sheets in the last 4 GWs.
So far in 26 appearances (21 starts) this season, he has created 26 chances and 1 big chance for his team and managed 7 shots from inside the box. While those are not very attractive numbers, the prospect of him playing in an advanced role against a leaky Leicester side along with clean sheet potential makes him a very good prospect. With ownership of just 1.6%, Emerson is a good differential at the back.
Raheem Sterling (Manchester City – Midfielder – £10.5m) vs LEE (A)
While it’s difficult to nail a sure starter from Pep’s line-up, Sterling has a relatively higher chance of featuring against Leeds as he was rested in their Champions League tie against Real Madrid. Man City can’t afford any slipups in the league and with Pep emphasizing the goal difference, City might be more attacking against Leeds who themselves can’t afford to drop many points.
This season, Raheem Sterling has scored 6 goals and 2 assists in 8 matches against the current bottom 5 teams. City scored 7 goals in the reverse fixture against Leeds this season and another such performance could be on the cards. Sterling has the highest upside among all players in GW35 and could be a nice differential captain too. Current ownership is 2.5%.
Edward Nketiah (Arsenal – Forward – £5.5m) vs WHU (A)
Nketiah has been flying in the FPL community since his brace against Chelsea in GW33. In the last 3 GWs, he has been among the best performers in the league. In this short run, he has 2 goals, 6 shots inside the box, 3 shots on target, and 3 chances created for his team.
Arsenal play against West Ham this week, a team whose defense is struck with a lot of injuries. The Hammers will be without both of their first-choice center-backs. On top of that, this fixture is also sandwiched between their Europa League semi-final games. Nketiah can benefit from this situation and we back him to get a return in this fixture. His ownership is 2.6%
*Ownership percentage is as of April 29, 2022, at the time of writing the article.
