The penultimate gameweek is upon us and it’s also the final double gameweek of the season. A lot of gains are still to be made in GW37 as many managers would be looking to Free Hit in this gameweek. The best possible way to climb ranks at the end of the season is to back some differential players and in this article, we bring you 3 differential players that can help you boost your ranks.
Vitalii Mykolenko (Everton – Defender – £4.9m) vs BRE (H) & CRY (H)
Mykolenko scored 14 points in the last gameweek including a goal and a clean sheet. Everton are the only team other than Aston Villa who have 2 home games and while, Everton have not been good defensively this season, they have been decent at home. In the last 5 home games, Everton have conceded just 2 goals and kept 3 clean sheets.
Both Brentford and Crystal Palace have conceded most chances from their right flank, where Mykolenko plays and can benefit positionally. With the prospect of 2 clean sheets and with an ownership of just 1.0%, Mykolenko is a good differential at the back.
Emiliano Buendia (Aston Villa – Midfielder – £6.1m) vs CRY (H) & BUR (H)
Emiliano Buendia was heavily considered by all FPL managers in the pre-season but failed to deliver due to poor performances and injuries. He made a return in the last gameweek and produced a goal and an assist, scoring 14 points against Burnley.
Aston Villa plays against Crystal Palace and Burnley, both teams who have conceded at least one goal in their last 5 away games. Gerrard plays one of Coutinho and Buendia, and thus minutes might be an issue. But if he starts both, then could be a nice differential option. Current ownership is 1.3%.
Demarai Gray (Everton – Midfielder – £5.4m) vs BRE (H) & CRY (H)
Demarai Gray has scored 5 goals and 4 assists this season, with most of his returns coming in the first half of the season. Both opponents, Brentford and Crystal Palace have conceded most chances from their right flank, where Gray plays and can benefit positionally.
Everton are battling for relegation and need to win their matches in order to survive. Everton have looked better in the last few games and this is a perfect match-up for Gray to get some returns. His ownership is 5.3%
*Ownership percentage is as of May 13, 2022, at the time of writing the article.
