As we approach the GW3 deadline, FPL managers are looking for differentials to help boost their rank. In this article, we cover 4 players who are overlooked but could be set for an impressive GW3. FPL managers would want to go into the international break on a high so let’s get straight into it.
Vladimir Coufal (West Ham – Defender – £5m) vs CRY (H)
The Hammers have made a solid start to their 2021-22 Premier League campaign with 2 wins from 2 games. They have a very favorable home fixture in GW3 against Crystal Palace. Palace have failed to score in both their games so far and haven’t looked like a goal threat. They managed just 11 shots on goal (20th), 3 shots on Target (20th), and 9 shots from inside the Box (19th).
Coufal has 1 assist so far in 2 games. In these games, he has created 3 chances and 2 big chances (joint 1st). Last season he produced 9 assists in 34 appearances. He offers very good value for his price and can be your man to provide attacking returns from defense along with solid clean sheet potential against a struggling Palace side. Current ownership is at 12.4%.
Pascal Gross (Brighton – Midfielder – £6m) vs EVE (H)
Pascal Gross is an option worth considering ahead of Brighton’s home match against Everton. Brighton have started the new campaign brightly with wins against Burnley and Watford in the first two Gameweeks. The German had supplied an assist in both those games. He has managed to create 6 chances in these games (joint 2nd) and 1 big chance for his team.
He is also heavily involved in set-pieces which makes him a smart option. Everton haven’t looked rock solid in the first two games and arrive at the Amex without a clean-sheet in either of their opening matches. We believe Gross’s delivery can prove decisive against the Toffees. With a current ownership of just 0.8%, he can prove to be a brilliant differential option.
Pablo Fornals (West Ham – Midfielder – £6m) vs CRY (H)
West Ham assets are highly owned by FPL managers owing to their brilliant form and potential. While Antonio, Benrahma, and Cresswell are the obvious picks, if you want to go the other way and take a chance on someone, Fornals is your man.
The Spaniard has 1 goal and 1 assist so far in 2 games. The midfielder tops the charts for chances created from midfield (7) and is ranked second in big chances created from midfield (2). He has also made 3 attempts on goal, 2 from inside the box, and 2 on target. With a current ownership of just 0.8%, he can be a game-changer for your team.
Harry Kane (Tottenham – Forward £12.3m) vs WAT (H)
This is one of the rare occasions where Harry Kane is a differential pick. His announcement confirming his stay at Spurs will have massive FPL implications. We expect him to start this week and against a newly promoted Watford, Kane can produce a solid performance.
Kane played 18 minutes against Wolves in GW2 and managed to have 1 shot on goal from inside the box and it was on target. In the 2020-21 season, he led the charts in both goals and assists with 23 goals and 14 assists which won him the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards.
Kane ranked 1st in attempts on goal (137), 4th in shots from inside the box (84), and 2nd in shots on target (51). Among forward, he created the most chances (49) and big chances (14). He also had the highest xG in the league of 20.23.
Despite the pain of losing the final of Euro 2020, Kane was applauded by fans all around the world. He led by example scoring 4 goals in 7 games leading his country to their first-ever Euro finals.
We back the Spurs talisman to continue his brilliant form this season as well. Current ownership is 7.9%.
*Ownership percentage is as on August 27, 2021 at the time of writing the article.
